Tips for the Care of Your Contact Lenses

Lens Removal

bulletAlways wash your hands before handling your lenses. Use a mild soap (avoid lotion soaps) and dry your hands with a lint-free towel.
bulletBefore removing the lens from your eye, put a lubricating drop in your eye, close the eye and gently massage the upper lid. Open your eye and blink a few times.
bulletFOLD OUT: Look up and slide the lens down to the lower portion of your eye. Gently fold the lens at the lower portions of the lens (5 o'clock and 7 o'clock) to remove it from your eye.
bulletSLIDE OUT: Gently roll the lens off the eye by sliding the lens down on the white part of your eye with the index finger of your dominant hand, and slide it off your eye.

Lens Cleaning
bulletAdd a few drops of the recommended disinfecting/rinsing solution to your lens and let it sit in this solution for 10 seconds. Allow the lens to become moist and pliable before beginning to clean them.
bulletPlace a few drops of the recommended cleaning solution on the lens surface and gently rub, in a back and forth motion, the surface of the lens.
bulletUse the pad of your finger to clean the lens.
bulletThoroughly rinse the lens with a steady stream of disinfecting or rinsing solution.
bulletFill your lens case with the recommended disinfecting solution, making sure to fully cover the lens, and close the lens case.
bulletKeep your lens case clean!
A Quick Reminder

To maintain the health of your eyes, it is very important that you follow the schedule your eye care practitioner recommends for lens wear, eye exams, and follow-up care. If you have any questions, you should ask your eye care practitioner.
