Jay Singleton, DO, FACS
Dr. Jay Singleton purchased Davidson Eye Clinic from Dr. Andrew Davidson in 2004. He received his Doctor of Osteopathy degree from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in May 1999. He completed his ophthalmic training at the University of Louisville in Kentucky, is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He provides treatment of eye diseases, cataract and glaucoma surgery, as well as LASIK and PRK Surgery. Dr. Singleton is married, enjoys spending time with his two daughters and son, and tries to find time to fish as often as possible.
Andrew Davidson, MD
Dr. Andrew Davidson is the son of Dr. Alan Davidson, original founder of Davidson Eye Clinic. Dr. Davidson completed undergraduate and medical studies at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.
Dr. Davidson served two years active duty with the U.S. Navy. In 1976, Dr. Davidson completed his postgraduate studies in Ophthalmology at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. He is board certified to practice ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Davidson practiced ophthalmology at Coastal Eye Clinic from 1976 to 1996 before opening Davidson Eye Clinic in New Bern and Morehead City in 1996. Dr. Davidson spearheaded the formation of New Bern Outpatient Surgery Center and served as its president from 1981 to 1984. Over the years Dr. Davidson has served on numerous committees at Craven Regional Medical Center. He has actively served in many local civic groups, including Craven Community College Foundation, Coastal Women’s Shelter, Board of Visitors at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as well as the local Morehead Scholarship Committee for the UNC-Chapel Hill . Dr. Davidson is the father of two children and in his spare time enjoys boating and scuba diving.
